About Me
- Name: buZ blurr
- Location: Surrealville, Principality of buZ, United States
I'm a retired railroad man who indulged in the folk art tradition of making chalk drawings on the railcars as an announcement of presence, and diversion from boredom. Although against the rules of the railroad, it was a common enough practice by the employees and hobos, by ignoring enforcement it was de facto tacit approval, for I dispatched drawings for 32 years of my 41 years of employment without interference. The initial purpose of this blog is to record the language used in my frequent boxcar icon dispatches.

Didn't allow me room on the caption to mention these keys are from Ed Giecek. Thanks Ed! Might be a while before I get another Ring of Keys mailed.
Just saw "How to Draw a Bunny", the documentary about Ray Johnson. UNREAL good great too much to even express in words intense well done wonderfulness.
Glad you got 'em Buz. I'll do some scout'n under the sofa cusion. Might just find sum more.
Thanks Ed & Jassy. I met Ray Johnson once. Alias Earlene & Sweeney's (me & the missus) 1st trip to the Big Apple. We were gallery hopping in Soho with David Zack, Ruth Walsh, and their one year old son, Ezekial, or Zeke Zack. It was really warm that Saturday, June 9th, 1973, the day Secretariat won the triple crown at the Belmont Stakes
We ran into Ray at the O.K. Harris Gallery, and David introduced us. Ray was passing out flyers inviting everyone to attend The First Buddha University Meeting for Mary Josephson at the Paula Cooper Gallery later that day. Ray was wearing a Cornell T-shirt, from the university, but we all knew it meant Joseph. Ray had just killed off The New York Correspondence School in a letter to the New York Times. Brian O'Doherty in the guise of Mary Josephson had written a review of Ray's Betty Parsons Gallery show, in Art News, assessing Ray's medium as Gossip of the post-comic-strip-mind bent. Mary Josephson was a no show, but there were lots of other folks, including John Evans, Woo Hoo May Wilson, E.M. Plunkett, John Dowd, Vince Aletti, David Zack, Ruth Walsh, Zeke Zack, Hoo Hoo Archives, and Earlene & Sweeney Atrophy.

Good story buZ. Thanks for sharing about your day in the life of Ray Johnson [that is mostly how the documentary is done - just folks relating there own Ray Johnson story to the camera]. I have no idea who these artists are that you mentioned? My hick outsider inferiority complex is kicking my undeserving butt over here (read with a NY accent please). How unworthy-worthy can one be?????
